Theta Chi Advisor/Leadership Development
Basic Position Responsibilities

  1. Participate in the training program from August 15 to August 19, 2007.
  2. Participate in staff development programs of Student Life and the Division of Student Affairs.
  3. Submit a weekly report on the chapter, housing operations and scholarship issues to supervisor by 8:00 a.m. Monday mornings.
  4. Uphold all National, local and university policies.
  5. Act as a role model for students understanding that this position is a highly visible one on and off campus.
  6. To not engage in any inappropriate relationships with any undergraduate students.
Specific Position Responsibilities

  1. Advise the Theta Chi fraternity in all areas of housing and chapter operations. See fraternity live in graduate advisor job description for specific duties. (50%).
  2. Coordinate and evaluate the Greek 101 program (for new members) each semester along with the council membership development vice presidents. (15%)
  3. Develop a council and chapter officer training and transitioning program. (10%)
  4. Develop leadership resource informational sheets with campus programs (i.e. Student Life, Learning Center, Career Center, Counseling Center, EIL, etc.). (5%)
  5. Revise the Greek Leadership Manual and inventory and organize the leadership resource center. (5%)
  6. Assist with sorority recruitment. (5%)
  7. Serve as a facilitator at the Greek Leadership Summit. (5%)
  8. Create a GA transition binder and CD. (5%)
  9. Additional duties will be assigned based on interests and skills in particular areas.
