There are basic duties and responsibilities for all Greek life graduate assistants and most specific job descriptions developed specifically for each member of the Greek staff team.
Greek Council Graduate Advisor
- Responsible for advising one Greek council (Panhellenic, Interfraternity or National Pan-Hellenic) along with flexibility to assist with other aspects of the Greek community.
- Hold and conduct consistent office hours in the Office of Student Life.
- Serve on call 2-3 weeks throughout the semester.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Greek programs and initiatives.
- Assist with general Office of Student Life duties and responsibilities.
- Educate members on and ensure adherence to all National, local and university policies.
- Serve as a liaison between the university, Greek council and fraternity and sorority members.
Fraternity Graduate Advisors
- Responsible for one aspect of Greek Affairs (i.e. leadership development, scholarship) along with flexibility to assist with other aspects of the Greek community.
- Live in the chapter facility.
- Serve on call 2-3 weeks throughout the semester.
- Over see facilities management.
- Hold and conduct consistent office hours in the Office of Student Life and at chapter house.
- Assist with implementation of encumbrance policy when necessary.
- Assist with educational programming.
- Assist chapter leadership with internal chapter operations.
- Communicate regularly with the housing corporation and chapter alumni/alumnae
- Educate members on and ensure adherence to all National, local and university policies.
- Serve as a liaison between the university, advisory board, Housing Corporation, local chapter and national organization.
