Tips from Parents of Current Undergraduate Greek Members
…try to meet other parents to find what you have in common, i.e. worries about your students and their college life.

Ask for information on the chapter's academic record, standards, alcohol policy and philanthropic activities.

Support your student and be involved in the activities when you are invited.

Be excited about what they are about to embark upon. It will create the greatest friendships, the most wonderful college memories, and provide social and service activities that build character and look great on a resume.

Joining a Greek organization will enhance your child's college experience if embraced. Each organization has specific values, so make sure your child chooses an organization that coincides with their own core-values and beliefs.

Discuss it (Greek life) with your student and determine what his/her motives are for wanting to join…

Communication is always a good thing. The more you know, the more you can interact with your child, and become involved in the things your child is involved in.

Have your student ask a lot of questions… if your student is considering Greek life sit down and talk to them.
