Helpful Hints From the Office of Student Life
- Membership in a Greek organization is a lifelong commitment and there are responsibilities associated with this commitment. Encourage your student to ask for details about the new member education process, financial/housing expectations and other membership obligations.
- Ask questions about what the organization will offer your student and allow them to make decisions on their own.
- Attend parent events sponsored by your student's chapter whenever possible.
- Encourage your student to attend programs sponsored by Student Life and the Greek organizations.
- Be happy and supportive with your student's choice to join a fraternity or sorority and the organization he/she chooses.
- Know the name and contact information for the organization's chapter advisor.
