Greek Strategic Plan
Vision, Values & Relationships Updates
Goal

The fraternity and sorority governing councils will engage in an intentional planning and goal setting process to establish a clear direction for each chapter, council and the Greek community as a whole

What we're going to do:

  • Host a minimum of one program or Interfraternity Council or Panhellenic meeting at a fraternity house or sorority suite to facilitate interaction.
  • Administer the Greek Experience Survey to each undergraduate member of the Greek community.  The results will be used to develop goals and benchmark progress.
  • Develop a plan to provide monthly updates to the Greek community, university administrators and alumni.  Explore all forums and medias.
  • Establish and disseminate individual council and collective goals at the Greek Leadership Summit.
  • Hold a joint meeting each semester with officers and chapter presidents from all three councils.  These meetings will be used to host important campus/community speakers and to inform constituents of important semester events and programs.
  • Develop a "good taste" policy for party themes, t-shirts and websites will be developed to ensure congruence between message and behavior.
  • Implement an all Greek service project.
  • Determine the feasibility of a Greek alternative spring break program and implement if interest exists.

Progress

  • The Greek Experience Survey was administered to over 1000 Greek members in February.  Results have been obtained and are currently being analyzed.  They will be distributed to chapters either later in the summer or early fall.
  • Thirteen BSU Greeks participated in the first ever Greek Alternative Spring Break.  They visited Grantville, PA volunteering for the Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association (CATRA).   Click here to learn more about CATRA.  These men and women completed over 360 hours of service during their spring break vacation!
  • Several sites have been contacted for the Greek service project.
