The Greek community will engage alumni to ensure active participation and consistent chapter advisement and support.

What we're going to do:

• Create a Greek alumni newsletter and send once per semester to all alumni, alumnae and graduate members.
• Meet a minimum of 2 times per year with Panhellenic Council sorority recruitment advisors to discuss the planning process for formal recruitment, marketing strategies and updates from the National Panhellenic Conference.
• Meet once per semester with National Pan-Hellenic Council advisors to discuss current membership intake, leadership training, and chapter activities.
• Develop a Greek alumni survey to provide information on involvement opportunities and to gauge interest in participation in volunteer programs/projects.
• Add an alumni section to the Greek life website that provides information, regular updates and opportunities for interaction.
• Revise and distribute the current chapter advisor manual.  The updated manual will include job descriptions and specific information for new advisors.
• Conduct an annual training session for all chapter advisors and other interested advisors in January to coincide with officer transitions.
• Reactivate the Greek Alumni Council to assist in planning events and cultivating alumni interest in programs.
• Plan social events for Greek alumni in the Muncie, Indianapolis and surrounding areas.

Progress

• The Greek Alumni Newsletter was emailed and mailed to over 10,000 BSU Greek alumni and advisors in January and June.  The newsletter was emailed last November to all BSU Greek alumni and advisors who had current email addressed listed with the BSU Alumni Association.  Click here to review past editions of the Greek Alumni Newsletter.  The next edition of the Greek Alumni Newsletter will be available in June.
• A survey was developed with the assistance of the Alumni Association.  The survey will gauge interest in participating in programs, volunteering and being involved with a Greek Alumni Alliance.  Results from the survey were recently compiled and letters sent to individuals who expressed interest in volunteering their time and provided contact information. 
• Alumni activities are currently being scheduled for the 08-09 academic year.  Ideas that have been discussed include an etiquette/networking night for seniors in the fall, a BSU basketball game in the winter and brunch/luncheon for alumni and seniors the day of Grand Chapter in April.
• A meeting was held on May 4^th with alumni/alumnae interested in creating a Greek Alumni Alliance (GAA).  Community updates and information on other alliances were provided and various ideas generated.
• Website content has been finalized and is waiting to receive approval to begin creating the new website.  The new alumni portion will include resources, community updates, advisor directories and more.
