Go Greek 2008!
Information on Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment at Ball State University
- Ask lots of questions! Sorority women are always willing to answer questions and tell you what you want to know. You shouldn't join a sorority blindly.
- Ball State has a strict zero-tolerance hazing policy. Hazing is not allowed on campus and for no reason should you ever be hazed.
- Be yourself. Don't try to impress sororities by being someone you're not; you'll wind up with a sorority that's not quite the right fit for you.
- Keep an open mind! Just because your friend or someone told you one sorority's the best doesn't mean that it is for you.
- Use your own judgment. A sorority that you may love may not be the best for your best friend, just like one that your best friend loves may not be the best for you. It's OK!
- Visit the Meet the Greeks Fairs on August 23 from 5-6pm in Worthen Arena Lounge & August 28 7pm-9pm in Pruis Hall.
- Attend the Sorority Recruitment Orientations on Wednesday, September 3 8:00pm in Bracken Library Forum Room (Room 225); Thursday, September 4; Friday, September 5; Saturday, September 6 12:30pm in Pruis Hall. Attending one session is required to participate in sorority recruitment.
what YOU should ASK:
- How much does it cost? Are there payment plans?
- How big of a time commitment is being in a sorority?
- Will my grades suffer if I go Greek?
- What kind of events/activities do you do?
- What are the differences between being Greek and not Greek?
- What does being it mean to be a new member?
- What do I have to do as a new member?
- How is a sorority different than any other on-campus organization?
- What are the benefits of being Greek?
- What kinds of leadership opportunities does your chapter offer?
