It is based on the belief that the student affairs professional, in addition to being a specialist in any one of the personnel fields, must also be a generalist with respect to institutions as a whole.
Curriculum is designed to provide each student with basic knowledge and understanding of higher education and the role of student affairs administration.
The program:
- is interdisciplinary and applied in nature.
- provides students with opportunities to further understand the developmental needs of young adults.
- provides students with opportunities to pursue areas of interest that will contribute to personal and professional growth and development.
- emphasizes the application of student development theory to professional practice.
- enriches learning experience via faculty who teach courses or supervise practica and assistantships and have administrative posts in the Student Affairs and Enrollment Management division.
