Graduate School
Social Science
The master's program in social science is designed to serve a variety of graduate education purposes:

  • Graduate students seeking initial teaching licensure are able to work on their licensure as they complete the course of study for the program.
  • Classroom teachers seeking to add licensure areas to their current social studies teaching license are able to work on the master's program while they pursue additional licensing.
  • Teachers who desire to learn more about instructional strategies, social studies resources, curriculum frameworks, and the integration of technology and the Internet into social studies education, find this program ideal for achieving these pedagogical goals.

The program integrates the most current research and practices into the curriculum of each of the graduate level social studies education courses. In addition, throughout the program of study, students learn to use state-of-the-art classroom technology and have access to a variety of digital teaching archives and resources.
