Public Administration (Criminal Justice)
The master's degree in public administration with a criminal justice and criminology concentration offers a strong curriculum in public administration.

Through the courses offered in the criminal justice concentration, students are prepared to fill leadership positions in criminal justice agencies. The criminal justice concentration prepares students for the unique challenges that face criminal justice agencies.

The master's degree in public administration is a terminal degree and a highly respected degree in the public sector.

  • The curriculum focuses upon the application of knowledge and the preparation of leaders.

Applied Opportunities

The Annual Conference on Crime and Public Administration (jointly sponsored by the Departments of Criminal Justice and Criminology and Political Science) fosters professional growth.

Application/Admission Requirements

  • Applicants must submit a Graduate School admission form and transcripts of all previous graduate and undergraduate course work.
  • Successful candidates must have a GPA of 2.75 or above. In addition, GRE scores, professional work experience, and letters of reference are considered in the application process.
  • For candidates of foreign nationality whose native language is other than English, a TOEFL score of 550 or higher is expected.
  • International students must apply through the Rinker Center for International Programs.

Graduate Assistantships

Assistantships are awarded through a competitive process to the best-qualified candidates. Assistantships may include tuition remission and a monetary stipend. (Students are responsible for dedicated fees)
