The nursing post master's certificate program is offered through Ball State University's School of Nursing and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. The program is designed for part-time students for professional advanced practice nurses, educators or administrators. Clinical work is done at your location. Students arrange preceptors (all clinical courses) and clinical faculty (selected clinical courses) at the site.
This program is delivered via the internet and requires computer access. NUR 605, Nursing Information Technology, provides an orientation to the program and is required for all students (or equivalent).

- Adult/Family Nurse Practitioner Post Master's Certificate Program prepares experienced nurses with a masters' degree in nursing for either the adult or family primary care nurse practitioner role.
Adult NP (23 credit hours, 555 clinical hours) Post Master's
Family NP (30 credit hours, 735 clinical hours) Post Master's
- The Nurse Educator Post Master's Certificate Program prepares experienced nurses with a masters' degree for teaching positions in schools of nursing.
Nurse Educator (15 credit hours, 225 clinical hours)
Application/Admission Requirements
- Meet requirements of the Graduate School.
- International students must apply through the Rinker Center for International Programs.
- Be a graduate of a National League for Nursing (NLN) accredited nursing program or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Have earned a Master's degree in nursing.
- Hold a license in state of practice as a registered nurse and have professional liability insurance.
- Show evidence of training in standard precautions.
- Have a health clearance.
- Have a criminal background check.
- Have had a physical assessment course (for NP students).
- Have recent clinical experiences (three of the past five years).
