Cheryll M. Adams, Ph.D. (University of Virginia) in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in gifted education; Director, Center for Gifted Studies and Talent Development; served two years as the Director of Academic Life, Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities; has a fifteen year background in teaching science and math in both public and private schools; was affiliated with the National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented for three years at the University of Virginia; teaches courses on gifted education; has published and presented widely in the field; edited a special issue of The Journal of Secondary Gifted Education on gifted females; was a 1994 recipient of the National Association for Gifted Children’s (NAGC) John C. Gowan Outstanding Graduate Student Award; co-editor, Research Briefs; and is a member of the Board of Directors of NAGC.
Felicia A. Dixon, Ph.D. (Purdue University)
in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in gifted education; assistant professor, Educational Psychology; former instructor and Humanities Division Chair, Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities; has presented frequently at conferences of the National Association for Gifted Children and the Indiana Association for the Gifted; teaches courses in gifted education; instituted a K-12 gifted program in a rural Nebraska school district; has taught at Burris Laboratory School; was a 1995 recipient of the National Association for Gifted Children’s John C. Gowan Outstanding Graduate Student Award; and is co-editor of Research Briefs.
Rebecca L. Pierce, Ph.D. (University of Texas-Arlington), associate professor of Mathematical Sciences; teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics and statistics; has presented widely in the area of mathematics and statistics at national, state, and local conferences; directed a National Science Foundation Grant under the EHR Model Projects for Women and Girls; taught mathematics to minority students in grades 7-12 as part of the BSU Summer Scholars Program; taught mathematics at the secondary level for seven years and served as mathematics department chair.
Rick Shade, Ph.D. (University of Northern Colorado),
Associate professor, Special Education; formerly at the University of Wyoming; author of License to Laugh: Humor in the Classroom; has published and presented widely in the field of gifted education; was a teacher of gifted children for fourteen years; teaches courses in gifted education.
David Williams, Ed.D. (University of Tennessee)
in Curriculum and Instruction; Director of Academic Life, Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities; twenty-one years experience as a school and central office administrator; founding member and former vice president of the Tennessee Association for Gifted; designed and implemented programs as district coordinator for gifted; taught gifted children in the classroom and at the Summer Institute for Gifted Children; has also presented at several conferences on the gifted.

Executive Director of the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics and Humanities; Professor and former Chair, Department of Educational Psychology; former editor of Research Briefs for the Division of Research and Evaluation of the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC); current editor of Gifted Child Quarterly; former editor of The Journal of Secondary Gifted Education, section editor for The Journal for the Education of the Gifted, and featured columnist in The Gifted Child Today; recipient of the 1996 NAGC Early Leader Award and the 1997 Early Scholar Award; has taught courses on gifted education; has published extensively in the field and served as a reviewer and editor for more than a dozen journals; and has received and administrated several grants relating to gifted education.
