Orr is a pioneer in environmental literacy, campus ecology, and ecological design. He chairs Oberlin College's environmental studies program, and is the education editor for Conservation Biology.

Jonathan Harris: "Bridging the Divide: Reconciling Economics and Environment"
Harris is director of the theory and education program at Tufts University's Global Development and Environment Institute. He is the author of Environmental and Natural Resource Economics: A Contemporary Approach.

Thursday, Sept. 15 at 7 pm
George Basile: "Netting the Sustainability Net: Using the Natural Step Approach"
Basile serves as executive vice president for The Natural Step and advises Fortune 500 companies and colleges on how to integrate sustainability into planning strategies.

Friday, Sept. 16 at 8:30 am
Anthony Cortese: "Reaching the Tipping Point: Making Sustainability the Goal of All
Higher Education Learning and Practice"
Cortese is president of Second Nature, which seeks to motivate environmentally just and sustainable action at all levels of education. He is a cofounder of the Education for Sustainability Western Network, and spearheaded the international Talloires Declaration of University Leaders for a Sustainable Future.

Friday, Sept. 16 at 1:00 pm
Robert Berkebile: "The Ultimate Design Problem: Can a Design Revolution Meet Humanity's Greatest Challenge?"
Berkebile is a founding principal of BNIM Architects and leads a national effort by American architects to develop the information needed by the design and construction industry to become environmentally responsible.

Friday, Sept. 16 at 7:00 pm
Nan Jenks-Jay: "From Food to Fiber: How Extended Connections Benefit Middlebury College, Vermont's Rural Economy, and Regional Sustainability in New England"
Jenks-Jay is director of environmental affairs and teaches in the environmental studies program at Middlebury College.  For two decades, she has been actively involved in environmental studies programs, their transformation of higher education, and their impact on regional sustainability.
