New for FC in Fall, 2006

Freshman Connections featured two major changes in its Fall, 2006 program.

  • Freshman Connections integrated two new residential "special interest" groups into its team structure: a residential unit in LaFollette complex for Pre-Business majors and a residential unit in Woodworth Hall for Nursing majors.  These joined the already existing team for TCOM majors.
  • A new team was organized to meet the needs of commuting students.  To prepare for this team, a focus group of new commuter students met during the summer to identify critical topics and plan programs for the fall semester.

The Princeton Review featured Ball State as "one of the best college values in the nation," in the 2007 edition of America's Best Value Colleges.  The guidebook highlighted "Ball State's success in building a sense of community, particularly through the Freshman Connections program, which places first-year students from the same residence hall in several of the same required courses."
