The department encourages professional and community service by its faculty and students.

The graduate degree options are designed to provide individualization and flexibility for students with varying needs and interests. The master of science in Family and Consumer Sciences and in Dietetics and the master of arts in Family and Consumer Sciences can be accomplished with a wide variety of courses.

In general, depending on the program of study, students should anticipate 18-24 months to complete a master's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences or Dietetics.
