What Type Of Guidance/Discipline Is Used At The Child Study Center?

The preschool program promotes the use of redirection and positive discipline.  We talk with the children and propose options, rather than making demands.  Being physically near a child and using a low voice is practiced.  Children listen best when they are told what they CAN do rather than what they CANNOT do. 

What Is The Child Study Center Illness Policy?

In compliance with NAEYC Accreditation, children with common colds do not need to stay home.  Exclusion is warranted for significant fever (101 degrees F, 38 degrees C), for uncontrolled diarrhea, vomiting, and for contagious illnesses such as mumps or head lice.  A chart of communicable diseases is available at the Child Study Center.
