Indiana REALTORS Education Foundation Scholarship

For

Residential Property Management Majors

Department of Family and Consumer Sciences

Ball State University

Muncie, Indiana

The Indiana Realtor Estate Foundation is making one $1000.00 scholarship available to a Residential Property Management Student at Ball State University.  This scholarship was established for the RPM Program in the 2003-04 academic year.  The scholarship previously had been a part of the Real Estate Program in the College of Business at Ball State University.  The purpose of this award is to provide scholarships to students enrolled in the Property Management program or similar areas in the real estate field.   Applicants must be students are residents of the state of Indiana and who have received academic recognition.

Indiana REALTORS Education Foundation Scholarship Selection Criteria 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completed application - (available through the RPM Program Intranet site on BlackBoard, the RPM web page at http://www.bsu.edu/fcs/rpm/ or the FCS Department's Scholarship page at http://www.bsu.edu/fcs/scholarships/ and click on Residential Property Management Scholarships)
  • The applicant must be an Indiana Resident
  • Write a 250 + word essay, describing career goals
  • Declared major in Residential Property Management, currently enrolled in or having completed FCSMR 235 "Introduction to Residential Property Management"
  • Minimum overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 and a 3.0 in major
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation, at least one from a faculty member who has had the student in class

Other Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstration of strong intellectual ability, with an overall GPA of 3.0 preferred
  • High motivation to succeed in the industry
  • Participation in extra- curricular activities related to the field

Other Information:

  • A Scholarship Committee made up of Advisory Board Members selects the scholarships.
  • A student may be awarded more than one scholarship (Indiana REALTORS, Glick, Senior, General, and/or Travel).
  • Scholarship awards will be announced at the RPM Advisory Board Networking Reception in March.  If you submit a scholarship application, you should make plans to attend this reception.
  • The scholarship recipients are expected to attend the Department's Awards and Recognition Program in April.
