RPM students enjoy a variety of on-campus and off-campus opportunities as a result of the generous support provided by the RPM Advisory Board and the individual attention provided by faculty in the program.

  • Students are exposed to the apartment industry and property management profession early in their academic preparation through job shadowing experiences, field trips, guest speakers, and hands-on projects. This exposure to the industry is maintained throughout the entire RPM curriculum.
  • Small class size provides maximum opportunities for class discussion and student participation.
  • Faculty work with individual students through academic advising, individual projects, and career counseling.
  • Internship opportunities are readily available nationwide and allow students to apply what they are learning in the classroom.
  • Students participate in professional networking opportunities through RPM Advisory Board receptions, luncheons, and interview opportunities.  Additional networking opportunities are provided to students through career fairs, and industry-related educational programs and conferences.
  • Leadership and volunteer opportunities are available to students through the Residential Property Management Association (RPMA), the student organization of RPM students.  Members meet monthly for a business meeting and program.  RPMA sponsors the annual Student Housing Expo, connecting Ball State students with area housing providers.
