Construction on Ball State's newest dining facility, Woodworth Commons, will begin soon. The project is currently out for bids, and it is anticipated a contractor will be onsite in July. The project is scheduled to be completed by fall 2007. The building has already been stripped of kitchen equipment and fixtures, and the space is ready for renovation.
The project includes a complete makeover of the existing space, as well as an expansion of the dining area. When completed, the new dining area will seat approximately 500 people. The new design will be less formal and more intimate that the large tables and booth seating previously in the space. Future development plans include the addition of outdoor patio seating
The dining facility will feature a two-story atrium space, soft seating areas with televisions, and will remain open 24-hours-a-day. The layout and design of the space will be state of the art, as will the food offerings.
