Welcome to Creative Writing at Ball State University. We invite you to explore our site for more information about our programs and faculty-and to check back often for news of upcoming literary events!
At the graduate level, we offer an innovative and flexible two-year course of study toward the M.A. in English (Creative Writing), as well as the option of a 15-hour Creative Writing cognate for those seeking a Ph.D. within the English Department.
Our
major
option for undergraduate writers is a B.A. in English/Creative Writing
with a wide range of courses in literature, fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction,
and a variety of special topics. We are proud to publish Ball State's undergraduate
literary magazine, The Broken Plate, and to host free public readings and
programs with nationally recognized writers through our
In Print Festival and growing
Visiting
Writers' Series.
