Teachers in America are charged with the responsibility of educating citizens for thoughtful participation in our democracy. As such, schools and classrooms must be models of democratic practices and should include the active and meaningful involvement of families and other community members in the daily life and operation of each school. Students electing this concentration will receive a substantive and balanced education in the content and process features of school and parent/family/community relations.
