Open Admission: All students admitted to Ball State University will be admitted to the Pre-Elementary Education Program by declaring their interest in a program in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education

By the end of the first year, each student should have:
1. Passed the Preprofessional Skills Test;
2. Identified a major in Early Childhood or in Elementary Education; and
3. Identified a Content Concentration Area to pursue as part of the Elementary Education program; (Early Childhood majors do not have a Concentration Area.) and
4. Met all Department and College Standards to continue in the program.

By the end of the second year, each student should have:
1. Complete all Department and College Standards, while enrolled in EDEL 200;
2. Achieved at least a 2.5 overall G.P.A.;
3. Completed EDEL 200 with at least a grade of "C"; and
4. Been admitted into the Teaching Curriculum with an identified major of Elementary Education (including a designated Concentration Area), or with an identified major of Early Childhood Education.
