*ENG 311 The Teaching of  Language Arts in the Elementary Grades (3)

*EDRDG 400 Teaching of Reading in Today's School(3)

ENG 331 Children's Literature (3)

*EDPSY 393 Educational Psychology for Elementary Education(3)

Fall or Spring

*EDEL 350 Teaching in the Elementary Education Classroom/ Practicum (2)

*SPCED 302 Teaching Students with Disabilities in the General Education Classroom (3)

*SCI 397 Teaching Science in the Elementary School (3)

SS 397 Teaching Social Studies in the Elementary School (3)

*MATHS 391 Teaching and Learning Mathematics in the Elementary School (3)

Concentration Area Course (3)

* Requires admission to the teaching curriculum to register. 

By the end of the third year, each student should have:

Completed EDEL 300, EDRDG 400, EDEL 350, EDPSY 393, SCI 397, SS 397,  with at least a grade of "C"; and MATHS 391 with at least a grade of C-";

Maintained at least a 2.5 overall G.P.A.;

Completed all Department requirements; and College Standards; and

Passed the Writing Competency Exam.

Fourth Year (27 hours)

By the end of the fourth year, each student should have:

Passed the designated Specialty Test for the Praxis II Exams;

Completed all requirements for graduation;

Applied for graduation;

Completed all Department and College Standards for licensure by the State of Indiana.
