  • Getting in “Gear”

            BookPod content can be produced on either a PC or Mac computer with the assistance of a the right software (mentioned below) such as GarageBand, or Audacity, the use and availability of a microphone and/or video camera, headphones or headsets, and participants that are eager to interact with others through technology, and reading.  The Podcast that will be created can be viewed on an MP3 player or through iTunes, winamp, or some other computer media application.

  • Programs for Creating Your Podcast

Garage Band

            Part of the iLife package from Apple computers, this is another editing piece of software that operates on Mac OS X.  When acquiring this software, the buyer must purchase the whole iLife suite.

Audacity

            Free software available on the Internet that allows the user to view and edit the wavelengths of audio files, but also lets you change specific parts by adding special effects.  This program works with Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.  This is the most popular, or widely used editing software for amateur Podcasters.

LAME or iTunes

            These programs convert your podcast that you have created into MP3 files  which will make the file size smaller and easier for others to download.

  • Uploading Podcost

You must sign in under admin, there you will find a button called Upload. Press it a screen will pop up where you will click on the browse button. Find the file you want to upload. The file must be under 10 mb for it to upload.
