Welcome to Class!
Web Design is a business course that provides instruction in the principles of web design using HTML and current/emerging software programs. Areas of instruction include web evaluations, audience analysis, hierarchy layout, design techniques, software integration, and publishing. The course also discusses techniques for using information/graphics from the Internet without infringing on copyright issues. Instructional strategies may include computer/technology applications, teacher demonstration, problem solving, critical thinking, independent study, and school projects. Weeks 1-5: HTML Projects 1-4
Weeks 6-11: FrontPage 2003 Projects 1-3 & Table Feature
Weeks 12-17: DreamWeaver MX 2004 Chapters A-N
Week 18: Review for Final Exam
Nine Week Grade Calculation
1st and 2nd nine weeks:
Grades for each grading period will be based on total points earned on assignments, divided by total points possible. Points will be from in-class lab assignments, projects, and tests. Late assignments will only be accepted for half credit. The nature of the course will require you to stay before or after school, or during a study hall to make up any missed work due to an excused absence. You are responsible for scheduling this time and are expected to show when a time has been arranged.You can view your grades and weekly lesson plans for class on the STI link on this page. You need to have a username and password to access your STI account.
Notebook grade: 50 points
For each nine-week grading period you will be responsible for keeping a notebook for class. You will need to acquire a 3-ring binder for this grade requirement. Appearance and organization will be considered as well when being graded. The notebook will consist of the following sections:
