Classroom Expectations
- Be respectful of yourselves, those around you, and the equipment in the classroom.
- Since this is a computer lab, no food or drinks will be allowed in the classroom. It will be thrown away.
- School attendance/tardy/cheating policies will be followed. The student handbook provides you with these policies and penalties.
- Be on time. You are to be in the classroom and ready to work when the bell rings, otherwise you will be counted tardy. If you are tardy to class four times in a semester, you will serve a detention. Any subsequent tardies will be dealt with according to the tardy guidelines in the student handbook (page 7).
- You are allowed three passes to leave the classroom for each nine-week grading period. These passes may be used for the restroom, lockers, or to go to the water fountain. For every pass that you do not use, you will receive 5 points extra credit.
- You are to remain in your seat until the bell rings for dismissal.
- The nature of computer courses will require you to stay before or after school, or during a study hall to make up any missed work due to an excused absence. You are responsible for scheduling this time and are expected to show when a time has been arranged.
About Me
Professional: I graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1992. I graduated from Ball State University in 1994 with an Associates Degree in Legal Assistance. I used that degree for my first "real job" at Hill-Rom Company in Batesville, Indiana as a pricing/contract administrator. I worked there for three and a half years before I decided to go back to college full-time to get my Bachelor's Degree in Business Education. I attended Ball State University to attain my degree in Business Education with a minor in Social Studies and graduated in 2000. I taught at Knighstown High School for a semester, then came to Shelbyville High School in the fall of 2001. While working as a teacher at SHS, I have also been able to be an assistant middle school golf coach, assistant varsity girl's golf coach, BPA Advisor, SADD sponsor, and Webmaster for our school's website. I am currently working on a Master's Degree in Educational Technology.
Personal: I was born and raised in New Castle, Indiana. I enjoyed a childhood without any siblings. Unfortunately, now I feel like I have missed out by not having any siblings. I have been married to my wonderful husband Troy for six years. We have the most handsome twin boys, Brody and Gavin, who are two and a half years old. They are the joys of our lives. My husband and I enjoy playing golf, swimming, softball, and volleyball when we are not spending time with the twins. That means that we hardly ever have the time to participate in our hobbies, but we are looking forward to teaching them how to play so we can enjoy these sports as a family.
