What can we do to save the Earth?

There are lots of little things that you can do to help save the Earth. Save water by using less whenever you can--like turning off the faucet when you brush your teeth. Reduce the amount of trash you create by reusing and recycling things. Turn off lights when you're not using them. Walk and ride a bike instead of driving everywhere. Use canvas bags at the grocery store instead of plastic. The list goes on and on. Things you do can make a difference!

Everyone can help to protect the environment. A first step is to keep the saying "educe, Reuse, and Recyle"in mind. Think before you buy newthings.
Do you really need it? Can you buy a used one? Can your reuse something you already have? And when you are ready to throw something away - recycle it if you can.

If I can add to those already excellent responses, my mentor, Ranger Steve, who was a ranger here in the Everglades for 25 years used to say, "Every single person makes the world every single day." In other words, all 6.6 billion of us matter and we determine what kind of world that we live in.
Today is Earth Day, and you will often hear the slogan for saving the earth, "Think globally, act locally."
My belief though is "think global, act daily." Some days its reading a book, magazine, or internet article to educate yourself. Other days its taking with your friends and family to brainstorm solutions, and other days its just taking a walk in nature (even taking with a good friend or family member).
From all my time working in the national parks as a ranger, I have come up with my own belief that "each and everyone of us can change the world. We do this by the way we vote, the products we buy, and the attitudes we share with each other."
Keep asking that vital question: "What can we do to save the earth?" because I cannot think of a better question to keep asking.

Great question Hailey!

One major thing you can do to save our planet is to help your friends realize how important it is to protect it.

It's much easier for someone to take care of something when they love it and enjoy it. So get together with your friends and start out by having fun in the outdoors. The more time you spend enjoying the outdoors the easier it will be to understand why it's important to protect it.

That's a good starting point for you and your friends. Hope that helps, and spread the word of how great it is to be out in the parks.
