Meeting with Provost King
Do not forget to attend the departmental faculty meeting with Provost King on Wednesday, February 4th at 2:30pm in TC 200A. The Provost is expecting to see all tenured and tenure-track faculty not teaching at this hour to be in attendance.
Advanced Graduate Studies Committee
The AGS committee will meet Wednesday, February 4th at 1:00pm in TC 528 to review School Psychology applications (all programs) and MA in Educational Psychology applications.
Kudos
Justin Boseck, Elisabeth Roberds (two of our School Psychology doctoral students) and Andrew Davis presented a lecture to the Brain Bee Mini Neuroscience Course titled, The Behavioral Geography of the Brain, Related Disorders, and Clinical Neuropsychology. Nice work!
Graduate Assistantship Guidelines
Details for both faculty and graduate students regarding assistantship guidelines can be found at http://cms.bsu.edu/Academics/CollegesandDepartments/GradSchool/Forms/~/media/C2B93DB6C0804B9380ED037CDDFAD0FD.ashx. You can find information on enrollment requirements, tuition remissions, summer stipends, the procedure to follow to dismiss an assistant, as well as amenities for assistants. This is not a new document, but it is clear that many students do not review this document before taking an assistantship. Faculty and graduate students please take some time to review this document so you up-to-date on the guidelines.
Graduate Student Recognition
It is that time again to nominate our outstanding graduate students for recognition at the annual Graduate Student Recognition Ceremony in April. Faculty please take some time nominate graduate student or graduate students nominate your selves. Students who have achieved one or more of the following since April 2008 will be recognized:
* Authorship on a refereed publication
* Presentation at a refereed regional or national convention
* National or regional award for creative works
* Research grant
* Creative arts grant
* Fellowship
* Professional certification
* Original software development
* Other professional or academic honor
The nomination form is at www.bsu.edu/webapps2/gradrecognition. Please note you will need to enter the BSU ID for each student nominated.
Educational Psychology Core Meeting
The Educational Psychology Core will meet next Monday, February 9th 1:30 – 3:00pm in TC 528 to discuss program policies and suggested updates for both the MA and PhD programs. Kathryn Fletcher is putting together an agenda for the meeting. If you have any items you want discussed at the meeting, please email her.
