and colleague Brian French had a presentation accepted at the Joint Statistical Meetings to be held in Denver entitled Multi-Group Confirmatory Factor Analysis: Parameter Bias And Non-Invariant Referents.

It was a busy weekend for School Psychology PhD graduate student Justin Boseck first he and Jerrell Cassady made a presentation at the Conference on Human Development. Later he was initiated into Pi Lamda Theta an organization that honors outstanding educators and inspires them to be effective leaders who address critical issues in education.

Educational Psychology PhD graduate student Kristen Williams has been named as a Fellow for the 2008 National Summer Data Policy Institute on the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and National Science Foundation (NSF) databases.

Save the Date – Felicia Dixon's Retirement Reception
We will be holding a reception in honor of Dr. Felicia Dixon's many years of service to BSU on Thursday, May 1st between 3:00 – 5:00pm at the Alumni Center. Details regarding the event will be forthcoming.
 
Upcoming Faculty Meeting – April 23
This is another reminder for our upcoming faculty meeting on April 23 from 1:00-2:30pm.  I am creating the agenda now and know we have several issues to discuss including graduate program policies, online courses and teaching, use of the research pool, and graduate/teaching assistantship policy.  If you have anything you would like to add to the agenda pleas let me know.
 
Summer Teaching and Learning Grant
The Office of the Provost has just announced a new grant opportunity to develop course proposals for inclusion in the new Core Curriculum. Each department can request $1000 to be divided among faculty as recommended by the department.  If anyone has suggestions for new undergraduate courses that can be included in the new Core Curriculum this is for you. Please submit the name(s) of faculty who will be involved and an estimate of the number of courses that may be developed by this individual/group. Submit this information by April 21st to the Office of the Associate Provost, AD 326. Information about total funding available to the department will be returned by April 25th.

Board of Trustees Blurbs
The next Board of Trustees meeting will be held on May 2.  I have been asked to prepare a list of noteworthy "achievements" for Dean Weaver to consider by April 18th. If you have any activities you would like me to forward to the Dean please send me the details by noon on April 18th.  
 
I hope I have not forgotten anything, but if I have please let me know.
