Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!  I hope Spring Break was a restful week for everyone.
 
New Educational Psychology/Development Faculty Member
Dr. Serena Shim will be joining our faculty this fall as an assistant professor with a background in educational psychology and human development.  Serena comes to us from Northern Arizona University with 2 years of experience. Thank you again to all who helped with the interview process and in particular the personnel selection committee!

Kudos
Holmes Finch had a paper accepted by the Journal of Sports Science and Medicine: "Comparing the Effects of Different Whole-Body Vibration Intensities on Counter-Movement Jump Performance" with colleagues Eric Dugan and David Bazzett-Jones.
 
Eric Pierson had his poster Similarities in the Processing of Threatening Information by Groups Differing in Neuroticism accepted for presentation at the 2008 APS Annual Convention in Chicago.
 
Oscar Ordonez, Educational Psychology Ph.D. student, also has had his poster Strategy Discovery and Pathways of Strategy Change in Children and Adolescents accepted for presentation at APS. Well Done!

University Committee Nominations Due
Don't forget I need to know by tomorrow - Tuesday, March 18th at 5:00pm if you are interested in serving on University Committees. I have put hard copies of each committee description in your mailbox, but you may also find the descriptions online in the faculty handbook.  I will forward all our nominations to the Dean's office as requested.  Thank you to those who have already given me their nominations.

Roundtable Council for the Associate Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School
If you want your name to be considered by the Dean for serving on Roundtable Council for the Associate Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School please let me know by Friday, March 21st at Noon. The Dean will then choose a few names to forward.  

Advanced Graduate Studies Committee
Please let Linda Jones know as soon as possible if you will be able to attend a meeting this Friday, March 21 from 10:00 – Noon to review educational psychology files.
