This program provides the graduate student with the training required for an initial education administrative license. In addition to the master's degree, a student must have two years of teaching experience, and complete a written assessment (School Leaders Licensure Assessment). The initial license period is two years. During those two years, students must complete an administrative induction program. The induction program will require completion of a portfolio and a professional development plan.
General Degree Requirements
The Master of Arts (M.A.E.) degree requires completion of at least 36 hours of graduate course work. A minimum of 27 hours must be completed in the major, supplemented by a course in research, a course in curriculum, and a foundations course. Students must maintain grade-point averages of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.

Admission to the Program
Applicants for the M.A.E. in Educational Administration and Supervision must complete the university "Application for Graduate Admissions" form and return it to the Graduate School. To be admitted to graduate study toward this master's degree, a student must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Hold an earned bachelor's degree from a college or university that is accredited by its regional accrediting association.
- Have one of the following:
- An undergraduate cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- A cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the latter half of the baccalaureate.
- A 3.2 grade-point average in 9 semester hours of graduate work approved by the chairperson of the major department and an acceptable score on the Graduate Record Examination. Such students will be considered probationary students until the conditions of their admission have been met.
Licensure Requirements
The following items, along with the required coursework, must be completed prior to applying for administrative license.
- Master's degree completed (this program or a program taken elsewhere)
- Two years of teaching experience
