Myrna Jean Bush Scholarships for Blind and Visually Impaired Students
Disabled Student Development (DSD) is pleased to announce the Myrna Jean Bush scholarships program for students with visual impairments enrolled at Ball State University.
Up to ten scholarships will be awarded annually to Ball State students with visual impairments.  These scholarships are open to current Ball State students who will be enrolled at Ball State for the coming academic year.     Students wishing to be considered for one of these scholarships must submit an application to DSD by April 15.  The Myrna Bush Scholarships Selection Committee will meet to determine the recipients of the scholarships.  Students selected to receive these scholarships will be notified by May 15.  While this is not a renewable scholarship, previous recipients are welcome to apply again for consideration.

The selection committee will consider three factors in determining scholarship recipients each year.

  • Appropriate documentation of a visual impairment on file with DSD
  • The student's grade point average (must be at least 2.0)
  • The student's involvement in campus and community organizations and activities (special consideration will be given to students who are active in Disabled Students in Action)
  • Financial need (students should have submitted a FAFSA by March 10)

To be considered for this award, students must send either a letter or an email expressing an interest in being considered for a Bush Scholarship.  This should include a description of why the student would be a good candidate for this scholarship.  Please describe your campus activities, community involvements, and leadership experience.
