The Cultural Studies Reading Group (CSRG) is open to BSU faculty and staff and is interdisciplinary both in focus and membership. CSRG participants represent a wide range of departments, and have read and discussed readings from a variety of disciplines. Members of the group read and discuss articles and book chapters on various aspects of American and world cultures that they decide on beforehand and that are made available before the meeting. CSRG usually meets about three times per semester. Sometimes they devote the last meeting of the semester to watching and discussing a film of cultural interest, sometimes with dinner. The CSRG is a great opportunity for faculty who are looking for intellectual stimulation and who are interested in learning about other disciplines and meeting faculty outside of their own departments.
If you would like to join or learn more about the CSRG, contact Robert Nowatzki, Assistant Professor of English, at 285-8476 or at rnowatzki@bsu.edu.
