Michael Goldsby

Michael Goldsby teaches and writes in the areas of entrepreneurship, business ethics, and strategic management. His current research interests include the development of entrepreneurial environments, the evolution of business ventures, the impact of varying views of human nature and philosophy on business, the logistics/entrepreneurship link, and the usage of self-leadership in entrepreneurship, ethical decision making, and individual and group motivation.

Accomplishments

  • Received the Jack Hoover Award for Teaching Excellence at Virginia Tech
  • Published research in highly regarded journals including The Journal of Managerial Psychology, Eastern Economic Journal, Management Decision, Group and Organizational Management, and The Journal of Legal Studies Education.
  • The Council of Logistics Management published a case that he and his brother, Dr. Thomas J. Goldsby of Ohio State, had accepted in an international competition; it was also presented as the featured case at the National M.B.A. Competition in Logistics.
  • Presented a variety of his research findings at national conferences in locations including New York City; Miami; Kona, Hawaii; Toronto, Canada; Boston; and Atlanta. Also served as keynote speaker at various ceremonies and banquets.
  • Member of the Academy of Management, the International Association of Business and Society, the Southern Management Association, the Midwest Academy of Management, and the Society for Business Ethics. Serves on the national steering committee of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE).
