Anthony Edmonds
Anthony Edmonds has taught at Ball State since 1969. He is author or co-author of six books and has won ten outstanding teaching awards. In 2003, he was named one of the two best liberal arts professors in the United States by the National Association of General and Liberal Studies. 

Accomplishments

  • Publications include a biography of prizefighter Joe Louis, a history of the Vietnam War, a history of Ball State University and of Ball State basketball.
  • Co-edited the collected correspondence of Dwight D. Eisenhower and Harold Macmillan.
  • Was a visiting professor and fellow of the David Bruce Centre for American Studies at Keele University in the United Kingdom in 2001.
  • Awards include outstanding faculty member, outstanding faculty advisor, the Vander Hill award for outstanding honors teaching, and the university exemplary teacher award.
  • Twice chosen by senior Whitinger scholarship winners to give the Whitinger lecture at the scholars' senior banquet. 
  • Won the Lawhead Award for outstanding teaching in the core curriculum at Ball State.
