
Barry D. Umansky is a communications lawyer who represents broadcasters and other electronic media and has had an extensive communications career in government and industry. He currently is affiliated with the Washington, D.C. communications law firm of Irwin, Campbell & Tannenwald, P.C.
Accomplishments
- Served as Deputy General Counsel with the National Association of Broadcasters in Washington, D.C., and edited and co-authored many NAB publications.
- Served as a member of the board of the former Washington-based Electromagnetic Energy Association, which represented producers and users of devices that emit electromagnetic energy.
- Member of the board of the National Antenna Consortium, an organization dedicated to uniform, fair and reasonable land use and other regulation of communications towers and antennas.
- Writes the "Broadcast Law Review" column for Radio World newspaper and the "Regulatory Review" column for TV Technology magazine.
