Summer 2008 Mediasite Classes Include:
BL 260. Principles of Business Law. (3) The nature, role, structure, and historical development of the legal system. The essential elements of legal liability, contracts, and government regulation of business. Law, ethics, and commercial relations that constitute the legal environment of business. Prerequisite: sophomore standing or permission of the department chairperson. Note: Students must have access to the Internet and an e-mail account.

FIN 310. Principles of Investments 1. (3) Introduces the workings of the stock market. Financial investments: stocks and bonds; futures and options; mutual funds are studied. Security analysis and principles of diversification are examined. Prerequisite or parallel: FIN 300.

HIST 150. The West in the World.
 (3) Survey of the development of Western civilization since its origins emphasizing key problems, turning points, and recurring themes, especially in the past two centuries. Focuses also on the way peoples around the globe helped to shape Western civilization and felt its influence.

HIST 201. American History, 1492-1876. (3) Survey of the political, diplomatic, economic, cultural, and sociological forces and adjustments that have affected the history of the United States to 1876.

HIST 202. American History, 1877 to Present. (3) Survey of the political, diplomatic, economic, cultural, and sociological forces and adjustments that have affected the history of the United States since 1877.

HSC 160. Fundamentals of Human Health. (3) Emphasizes life-style behaviors contributing to health promotion and disease prevention. General areas affecting health status are identified and suggestions made as to how health-related behaviors, self-care, and individual decisions contribute to wellness and influence dimensions of health.

HSC 180. Principles of Community Health. (3) This course provides an introduction to community health concepts and practice by examining the philosophy, purpose, history, organization, functions, tools, activities, and results of community health practice at the local, state, and national levels. Through this course you will develop a working knowledge of the fundamental structures of community health and gain information on health systems that contribute to the promotion, protection, and preservation of health for defined groups of people.

RMI 377. Operations of Insurance Enterprises. (3) The study of the decision-making of insurers and consulting firms in areas such as pricing, underwriting, reinsurance, distribution, and loss control. Prerequisite recommended: RMI 270.
