In the past, students were required to pay for Independent Learning courses upfront before they could start coursework and before their registrations would appear on the mainframe. Effective July 1, 2007 Independent Learning registrations will be processed within 24-48 hours of receipt, regardless if payment is received upon registration (provided there are no holds on your records or restrictions on the course). Students who do not pay online during the registration process will be billed electronically through the Bursar's office and are subject to the same payment policies as campus students.  

Not only will these changes make the enrollment process more consistent with on-campus procedures, they will assist non-traditional, off-campus students with securing financial aid and participating in the installment plan.
