Online and Distance Education
Getting Started
1.  Submit an Intent to Register Form. There is a $100 deposit that is required to secure your space in the program. The deposit will be returned to you upon course completion. Do not apply for admission until we confirm that we have received and accepted your form and deposit. Accepting this form does not guarantee that you will be accepted into the Graduate School. The deadline for submitting the Intent form and deposit is April 18, 2008. Envelopes must be postmarked on or before this date to be considered.

2. Admissions. Students must be admitted to the Graduate School at Ball State University. Applications may be submitted online at www.bsu.edu/gradschool/admissions. Students must select an educational objective. Below are three common types that may apply to you.

  • Guest: Students may apply for this status if they do not plan on using the course for a licensure or a degree program. Approval for enrollment as a guest student is generally given for one academic semester (two summer sessions count as one semester). To be considered for an additional semester, students must reapply as a guest student. • Licensure: Official transcripts from all institutions attended beyond high school are required. Also, a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Learn more at http://www.bsu.edu/gradschool/article/0,,12043--,00.html
  • Degree Seeking: Official transcripts from all institutions attended beyond high school are required. Also, an undergraduate cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Learn more at http://www.bsu.edu/gradschool/article/0,,12039--,00.html

Questions regarding the application process may be directed to gradschool@bsu.edu or 1-866-285-4723. You may also visit www.bsu.edu/gradschool/admissions.

The application fee will be paid by the grant. In Box 17 of your admission application, please indicate that you plan to attend the Insurance Education Institute.
