Offered Statewide in Indiana via Web Conferencing Purpose
The program is designed for teachers who already hold a master's degree. Students without a master's degree may pursue the license in conjunction with a master's (see MAE in Educational Administration and Supervision degree)
Course Delivery Method
Courses for this degree are offered statewide by IHETS Interactive, a Web conferencing system that utilizes Macromedia Breeze software. These courses are taught live on our main campus in Muncie and are simultaneously video streamed through the Internet to your home or office computer. Students must have a high-speed Internet connection, such as DSL, cable, or a T1 line, to view these classes. The Macromedia Breeze software can be downloaded free on the Internet. Requirements
The following items along with the required course work, must be completed prior to applying for this license.
» Masters degree completed (a program at Ball State or a program taken elsewhere). Students who wish to complete this program as a master's degree and a licensing program combined, must meet all the admission criteria for a master's degree and be accepted through the Department of Educational Leadership and the Graduate School. Completion of the courses below will not guarantee a master's degree will be granted, unless you have been accepted in the master's degree program.
» Two years of teaching experience in an accredited school or schools in the grade coverage and areas as listed on your standard or proficient grade teaching license. This must be verified in the form of a letter by your employing school system and submitted to our office prior to or at the time of application for this license.
» School Leaders Licensure Assessment Test completed with a score of 165 or higher.

Admission and Registration
» Students may apply for admission online at www.bsu.edu/gradschool/admissions. The graduate application fee is $25 for BSU alumni and $35 for non-BSU graduates. Additional information may be obtained on the Graduate School's Web site.
» Once you are admitted, you will be given a BSU username and password. You will need this information to register for classes online at www.bsu.edu/distance/schedule.
» Fees are due when billed by the Bursar's office or before the first day of the semester, whichever comes first. Paper bills are no longer mailed to a student's home. An e-mail notification is sent to your BSU e-mail account when a bill is ready to be viewed. Visa and MasterCard may be used to pay off-campus tuition. Persons age 60 and older may receive a 50 percent discount on tuition.
