Admission. In order to receive college credit for the workshop that you are taking through Conn-Selmer Institute, you will need to complete the appropriate application for admission. The application fee has been waived for Conn-Selmer Institute participants taking the Track 1 workshop.
Undergraduate students may apply for guest or non-degree status on the admission application. Students will not be required to obtain a signature/seal or transcripts for the application process. You may apply online at https://www.bsu.edu/webapps2/extedstudent/app/. Questions regarding the undergraduate application process may be directed to Linda Parker at 1-800-872-0369 or lparker@bsu.edu.
Graduate students may apply as non-degree students. Original copies of transcripts are preferred for all graduate applicants, but faxed copies will be accepted. Please write "Conn-Selmer" in the comment section of the application to ensure your application fee is waived. The online application is located at http://www.bsu.edu/gradschool/admissions/. Questions regarding the graduate application process may be directed to the Graduate School at 1-866-285-4723 or gradschool@bsu.edu.
Registration. Once you are admitted to the university, Rhonda Small (rsmall@bsu.edu) will send you a BSU username and password. You will need this information to use our online registration system. Below are the courses in which you may register:
MUSED 493, reference #18647 - 1 undergraduate credit hour
MUSED 493, reference #18655 - 2 undergraduate credit hours
MUSED 593, reference # 18664 - 1 graduate credit hour
MUSED 593, reference #18672 - 2 graduate credit hours
Below are the steps that will walk you through the registration form:
1. Go to www.bsu.edu/distance/schedule and click the Course Registration Form link.
2. Click Begin Course Request on the next page.
3. Under Program Selection, select the Distance Education Program option.
4. Enter your username and password.
5. The first page that is displayed will ask for a daytime phone number and personal e-mail address. Then click Continue to Step 2.
6. In the Course Request Section (Step 2 of 4), select the term from the drop down box and click GO.
7. Click the box beside the course(s) you want to take. Make sure to check the Gray Box before clicking the Continue to Step 3 button.
8. The next screen will ask you to verify the information, then click the Continue to Step 4 button.
9. Then select your payment method to complete your request.
The registration form works best when using Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Payment. Tuition is offered at a reduced rate of $125 per credit hour for both undergraduate and graduated credit.
You may pay online during the registration process or wait for an electronic bill. E-bill notifications are e-mailed to your BSU e-mail account.
When paying online, make sure to change the payment amount to reflect the special rate you owe ($125 x number of credit hours) on the "Enter Payment Amount" page.
