Bio for Dr. Dom Caristi
Associate Professor of Telecommunications and Director of the Master’s Program in Digital Storytelling at Ball State University. He holds a B.A. in communications from the University of Miami, a M.A. in mass communications from Central Missouri State University, and a Ph.D. in mass communications from the University of Iowa. Dr. Caristi has taught at Iowa State University, Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, and Missouri Southern State College. At Missouri Southern, he also managed the college's low power TV station. In 1995, Caristi was a Fulbright Professor at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. In 2002 he was a visiting professor for AHA-International in Macerata, Italy. He has served fellowships with the National Association of Television Program Executives and the Radio Television News Directors Association. In 1999 he received the IRTS Foundation’s Professor of the Year Honorable Mention and the Iowa Broadcasters Association Distinguished Service Award in 1998.
