Ann Bobeck bio

Associate General Counsel

Ann Bobeck is Associate General Counsel. Her work at NAB focuses on a variety of broadcast regulatory issues, including advertising, political advertising, closed captioning, children's television, contests and gaming, satellite radio, FM translators, Low-Power FM, engineering compliance, the Emergency Alert System and new spectrum technology. Additionally, she coordinates with the telecommunications industry on environmental and historic preservation compliance issues. Ann is principal editor of NAB's publications: Political Broadcast Catechism, Political Broadcast Agreement Forms and Contests, Lotteries & Casinos.

Born in Quito, Ecuador, a Washingtonian for the past 32 years, Ann holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government/International and Comparative Relations from Wesleyan University (Connecticut). She was a legal assistant at Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker. She then received her law degree from The George Washington University Law School. Ann was a law clerk at NAB in the summer of 1997 and she joined the NAB Legal Department in August 1999.

Ann is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar and the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA). She is past co-chair of the FCBA Copyright Practice Committee, and currently serves as co-chair of the FCBA Mass Media Practice Committee. In addition Ann serves on FCBA Nominations Committee.
