CTE Indy Workshops on Visual and Digital Literacy
Today’s children are growing up in a digital
world. Teachers and schools are pivotal in shaping how
children grow and learn with digital technologies and
emerging media. The Center for Technology in Education

Using new Web 2.0 technologies, today’s digital
natives have new ways to construct portfolios as
narratives of their academic growth. The Ball State
teacher education portfolio model has evolved since
2002 to now incorporate Web 2.0 techniques within a
longitudinal view of learning. Dr. Helen Barrett brings
these trends to light with a portfolio pedagogy for

The first School Technology Leadership (STL) seminar

Emerging Media Initiative

The CTE co-wrote four proposals for the Emerging Media
Initiative (EMI). Two projects made it through the
first round of proposals. One with Dr. Sheron
Fraser-Burgess in the Department of Educational Studies
made it through the second round and was funded for
