The CTE and EPIC welcome Dr. Helen Barrett as a guest
speaker for the 2009-10 CTE Technology Seminar
Series. Using new Web 2.0 technologies, today’s
digital natives have new ways to construct portfolios
as narratives of their academic growth. The Ball
State teacher education portfolio model has evolved
since 2002 to now incorporate Web 2.0 techniques
within a longitudinal view of learning. Dr. Helen
Barrett brings these trends to light with a portfolio
pedagogy for K-12 and teacher education.
When: Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 from Noon to 2 PM
Everyone is welcome: Students, faculty, and staff. The target audience is teacher education or anyone interested in portfolios as a learning environment.
What: We will have appetizers and refreshments at the reception from Noon to 1 PM in TC 406. Also on display in TC 406 will be Portfolio Lab resources, iStudio resources for multimedia development, and example portfolios. At 1:00 PM we’ll move to TC 412 for Dr. Barrett’s presentation.
