The CTE Digital Educators Cooperative is a vehicle for engaging in-service teachers and educators in the professional development activities of the CTE. The “Co-op” was designed to serve as an immersive, culminating opportunity for teachers who utilize the resources and academies of the CTE. The goal of this program is to professionalize technology in public education and to elevate the professional profile of those who choose to be leaders in educational technology. Via the CTE Digital Educators Cooperative, teachers can apply their expertise in programs and services sponsored by the CTE that have value in the educational marketplace.

Who is eligible to be a CTE digital educator?
A more formal application process is forthcoming. At this time, these are the general criteria we are seeking for members of the co-op. You must meet at least one of the following three crirteria:
  1. Licensed classroom teachers, librarians, clinical professionals, or school administrators
  2. IT and/or digital media professionals working in schools or in agencies in service to schools
  3. Current Ball State students in aligned programs who are seeking careers in service to public education.

What are the benefits?
  1. Opportunities to design and deliver professional services at CTE-sponsored workshops, institutes, and school-based contracts.
  2. Professional support during forthcoming CTE-sponsored certifications.
    3 Access to hardware and software resources of the CTE.
  3. Opportunities for conference travel and other professional opportunities sponsored by the CTE

What are the responsibilities?
  1. Participation in one or more CTE Academy
  2. Provide demonstrable leadership at the school and/or district levels
    3 Maintain professional memberships in at least one national association
  3. Maintain a professional digital portfolio aligned to the framework of the participating academies
  4. For members who choose to provide professional services with the CTE: Must have professional expertise with one or more target technologies and/or emerging media that can advance teaching, learning, and/or schools more generally.
