The outreach mission of the CTE will be organized in the form of on-going academies that focus on critical needs in schools in relation to technology. Two of four academies are already underway:

• EPIC Academy for Assessment and Curriculum (launched Spring, 2009)
• School Technology Leadership Academy (launched Summer, 2009)
• Digital Educators Academy (launched Summer 2009)

Each Academy will engage pre and in-service educators, schools, communities, and agencies in one or more of the following activities:

1. Online communities and courses
2. Institutes and workshops
3. Immersive learning experiences for Ball State students
4. Professional recognitions and/or certificates
5. Dissemination of research, evaluation, and content
6. Professional consulting, grant-writing, content development, and other services to schools
