Since 1985, the Social Science Research Center has provided Regional Child Welfare Services Coordinator services for the East Central Region of Indiana. Assistance is currently provided to 17 County Offices of the Division of Family and Children in three Regions of the State: Blackford, Dearborn, Decatur, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Grant, Henry, Jay, Jefferson, Ohio, Randolph, Ripley, Rush, Switzerland, Union and Wayne. This project is funded through a contract with the State of Indiana, Department of Child Services. The SSRC assists with the development, implementation, coordination, fiscal monitoring, and evaluation of Title IV-B Part I, SSBG and IV-B Part II services for at-risk families and children and for families in which there has been documented child abuse and/or neglect, as well as CFCIP (Chafee Foster Care Independence Program) services for youths aged 16-21 in need of independent living/emancipation services. These services are not provided directly by the SSRC itself but by service providers that receive contracts with the State. Such services may include Homemaker services, Home-based Therapy, Counseling, Independent Living Case Management and Room and Board, Diagnostic and Evaluation services, and Pre/Post-Placement and Post-Adoption services.
