Inderdisplinary course with departments of telecomunication and journalism where CS students write software to allow students in the other departments produce interactive TV news. Journalism students were primarily involved in the production of news graphics.
The project was nominated for an Emmy.
The project ran classes in both the spring of 2006 and the spring of 2007. Computer Science instructor Vinayak Tanksale has been involved both years, but professors from the other departments have changed. The news coverage was produced by NewsLink Indiana, part of the News Research Institute at the Center for Media Design.
The project has been used by Microsoft in a promotional piece. This use of BSU and CS is covered by an article in Inside Indiana Business.
