Wayne Zage has been awarded Indiana’s TechPoint 2008 Mira Award in the category Education Contribution to Technology. The TechPoint Mira Awards highlight the accomplishments of Indiana's most Innovative and successful technology-driven organizations. Wayne attributes this award to the Software Engineering Research Center (SERC) where the research experiences and lessons learned with government and industrial affiliates filter through university faculty into their classrooms, resulting in better educated students with BS, MS and doctoral degrees in computer science. These graduates then enter the workforce in a variety of technical fields. Technology transfer is one of the goals of the National Science Foundation’s Industry/University Cooperative Research Centers (I/UCRC) Program. SERC has been an I/UCRC for 22 years.
